If the details of a home say anything about that person, all we can say about interior designer Tina Rich is that she is goals. From her warm and welcoming demeanor to her balanced sense of style, she is the embodiment of her perfect Brooklyn apartment (which she, btw, shares with the most charming hubby and Brodey, their Boston terrier). She, like her home, showcases a modern bohemian perspective that pairs simplicity with sophistication. After working for household names like Jonathan Adler, she set off on her own to reinvent both commercial and residential spaces, building an impressive client list which includes model Karlie Kloss. She is quickly expanding her empire, with now a highly curated e-commerce site of global travel-themed home accents, including some of the dreamiest throws and dinnerware. Her career wasn’t laid out for her and her (literal) journey across multiple states and programs has brought her to New York, where she is thriving. Yet she remains balanced and grateful through it all, which is a lesson we really took to heart. Her sense of gratitude and appreciation for the space and world around her is reflected throughout her work, which is probably why we felt so comfortable and inspired by her.

  • I was put on this Earth to:
  • Create beautiful spaces and furniture, collaborate with and bring together other creatives, and hopefully inspire others to do the same!

  • Where I draw the most inspiration when creating spaces:
  • My travels.  My husband and I love to explore new cities and get so much inspiration from the architecture, hotels, shops, food, local craft…  It’s also about taking a break, going somewhere different, and allowing yourself to take it all in through the eyes of a visitor.  We went to Bali on our honeymoon and really fell in love.  We visited local workshops and met with artisans and I eventually added some of their pieces to my shop.

  • An achievement that served as a catalyst for my career:
  • When I was in my early 20s, I realized that I wanted to be an interior designer so I moved to a different city and enrolled in an interior design program. At the end of the program, you either go into the program permanently or you didn’t! I had left my friends and family and spent that summer working so hard and really putting my all into something. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done but I got in! That feeling of setting a goal, working your ass off, and then achieving it, will never get old for me.

  • Five things that are essential to a happy home:
  • Organization, sunlight, plants, a cozy bed, and a pup.
