We were lucky to catch Lydia Paek between dancing at shows as a member of the fan favorite Quest Crew and recording her first American EP. This LA-native, while not even 30 years old yet, has been in this game for longer than you’d think. Almost a decade ago, Lydia was recognized on Youtube as the moving and powerful voice behind major covers. At 21, Lydia was scooped up by YG Entertainment, South Korea’s most prominent talent agency behind notable artists like Big Bang, 2ne1 and Black Pink, where she penned some of their most successful songs. Fast forward a few years and it is now her moment to shine in the spotlight. When catching up with her, she is humble and forever grateful for her success thus far, and even jokes that she would have been a chef had it not been her passion and talent for music. But, don’t let the sweetie exterior fool you – she is a serious musician with a heart that overflows with soulful lyrics and a voice that make our jaw drop. With a clear vision, she is hustling to realize her dream, showing no sign of stopping, and we can’t be more excited for her.

  • What motivates me to get out of bed every morning:
  • Knowing that I have purpose and fufilling God’s plan for me. Also my family and friends.

  • A piece of advice that I'm glad I didn't follow:
  • “Play it safe.”

  • Hypothetically, if I were a chef, my signature dish would be:
  • Ginger seafood soup

  • But in reality, I was born to be a singer, songwriter and dancer because:
  • Because that’s what God’s plan is.

  • Five things I can't live without:
  • Candy, eyeliner, phone, soap, fruit.
